Brown eggs remind me when I used to gather eggs from the hen house.

I can visualize Dad and his boiled egg preparing rituals. . .
1. A tedious peeling process with shell remnants placed in a bowl beside his plate
2. Bisecting the egg into perfectly symmetric hemispheres
3. Smashing the egg through the tines of a fork
4. Apply a dab of butter, some salt and pepper
5. Repeat step 3. until yolk, whites, butter, salt and pepper are homogenously dispersed
6. Evenly apply a skim coat of butter and liberal quantity of jam onto two pieces of toast.
7. Repeat 6. for willing guests at the table
8. Devour everything on the place

Thank you for this post. I use Howard Zehr's "Little Book of Contemplative Photography" as my textbook when I am teaching contemplative photography. I appreciate the way he sees things.
While the famous/infamous exhibition, "the Family of Man" has raised lots of controversy for it's part in "othering" I have always found that the heart behind Steichen's efforts was to portray that commonality. It may explain why the book from that exhibit is still the best-selling photography book in the world.

I enjoyed that article. I have found over the years that the us and them dynamic between my clients and myself has been slowly dissolving. This can create more empathy at times but also more pragmatism and at times I am criticized since I don't necessarily hand out that condescending sympathy that helpers often dole out as a substitute for real kindness. On the other side, I also try to root out the us and them stance that I habitually have taken with authority as well. I does decrease resistance...

Interesting! You always find such interesting stuff! I want to thank you again for your generosity around our Buddy Walk. It was actually a very inspiring event leading to more questions than answers and helping us drill down into our thoughts and feelings about inclusion etc. even more!

So cool! We went to a Symposium of Inclusion last weekend at our local Youth Theatre. This youth theatre sponsors a Theater Adventure Program for people with disabilities to put on productions/plays. I'm never sure how I feel about these kinds of things? There are some typical kids involved too and many of the folks are physically challenged. They do however provide some consciousness raising in the community and it was an interesting experience to go. Of course they'd love to have Kayli in the program since she is a natural performer with a winning personality!
