Lend a hand to my next art series – please. I need handprints of your baby or toddler with Down syndrome. Must be in digital format – either photographed (best) or scanned, but must be palm side, open hand. I know….I’d be asking the same thing – why should you trust me with images of your beautiful child’s hand? Maybe a knowing my intentions would help. I want to create a series of art intended to challenge negative public attitudes toward people with Down syndrome and the growing trend to terminate pregnancies id’d with Down syndrome. I vouch for Candee’s authenticity. Her art work has inspired many wonderful conversations around inclusive communities where all are valued. Candee’s purpose for her art is to communicate her stories, thoughts and passions in the best way she knows how. This particular project is vital to further the discussion of valueing all diversity and the importance of each person to community.
I hope you all will help Candee with this.
